Perfectly Fresh! are an Accredited Living Wage Employer

We’re delighted to share that Perfectly Fresh!, an Oragen Group company, are now an accredited Living Wage Employer!

This means that, as a business, we’re ensuring our employees are being paid a fair wage in line with the cost of living. This shows our ongoing commitment to our fantastic employees, sharing our core values in supporting and developing the team.

What Does the Living Wage Accreditation Mean?

The Living Wage Foundation was created to advocate for fair wages, in relation to the cost of living. Getting this accreditation is voluntary, with a standard process for employers to undertake. The company is required to demonstrate their commitment to the living wage, as it increases year on year, following the annual calculations.

The Living Wage is calculated based on the cost of living in a particular area, considering the cost of housing, transport, food, and other essential expenses. The National Minimum Wage - the legal minimum that employers must pay – does not take these factors into account.

Why the Living Wage Accreditation is Important for Businesses

There are several benefits to becoming a Living Wage Employer. Most notably, the dedication shown towards corporate social responsibility ambitions is key. This demonstrates a commitment to fair pay and ethical employment practices.

Furthermore, consumers are becoming increasingly more concerned about the ethical practises of businesses and are more likely to support businesses that are publicly demonstrating this. Therefore, the added social value is essential.

Overall, the Living Wage Employer accreditation is a step towards creating a fairer, and more equitable society and in promoting the importance of fair pay and ethical employment practises.
